The Family of John Jacob Hacker

Louis was the second child born to Johann Hacker and his first wife, Elizabeth Lueth. Louis was born 25 May 1859 in West Seneca, Erie Co., New York. He was age 5 when the family moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1865 and he spent the rest of his life there. He was a Patternmaker by trade. Louis died in Detroit on 27 Jul 1938.

Louis married Johannah L. Martin on 17 Jun 1883 in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents are unknown due to her surname being so common. More research is needed. Johannah was born in Sept 1862 in Germany. Census pages show that she had immigrated to the United States in 1866. She died in Detroit on 15 May 1939.

Based on federal census's and records from the Old German Lutheran cemetery, I believe that Louis and Johannah were the parents of three children:

1. Harry Hacker (bef 5 Apr 1884 - 5 Apr 1884)

2. Ellen A. Hacker (1885 - unknown)

Married Charles Henry Dahmer

Children: Ellerie, Shirley J.

3. Sylvia V. Hacker (1894 - unknown)

Married Lawrence Roy Seymour

Children: Lawrence Jr.
